Five
A quieter way to keep the five daily prayers.
Five lives on your lock screen. A small sun-path arc shows the day at a glance — which prayers you’ve kept, which is next, and how long you have. Built for distracted minds: nothing to set up, nothing to lose, no streak that punishes a hard day.

The main screen. The arc follows the sun through the day, and each prayer sits at its own hour along it.
Getting started
01
Open Five and allow location.
Prayer times are calculated on your phone from where you are. If you’d rather not, Five uses Mecca and tells you so.
02
Check the method matches your mosque.
Tap Method and pick the one your local mosque follows — Umm al-Qura, Dubai, Muslim World League and others are included.
03
Add the widget.
This is the point of Five. See below.
Adding the widgets
On your lock screen
Press and hold the lock screen → tap Customise → tap Lock Screen → tap the space under the clock → choose Five.
On your home screen
Press and hold an empty part of the home screen → tap Edit → tap Add Widget → search for Five → choose a size.
The live countdown
Open Five once. A card appears on your lock screen and in the Dynamic Island counting down to the next prayer. It updates on its own.
Marking a prayer
Tap a prayer in the app, or tap it on the home-screen widget — Five opens with it already marked. Tap again to undo. A prayer whose time has passed is simply there to make up, whenever you’re ready.
If the times look wrong
Check your location first.
Open Five and look at Location. It should show your city. If it says “Mecca — tap to set”, tap it and allow location access.
Still a few minutes out?
Different mosques follow different authorities. Change Method to match yours.
Asr looks about an hour off.
That’s Madhab. Hanafi places Asr roughly an hour later than Shafi. Set whichever your family follows.
What Method and Madhab mean
Method
Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are set by the sun’s position, so they barely vary. Fajr and Isha depend on how far below the horizon the sun must be, and different Islamic authorities chose different angles. Method is simply whose ruling you follow.
Madhab
This only affects Asr. In the Shafi, Maliki and Hanbali schools Asr begins when an object’s shadow equals its own length. In the Hanafi school it’s twice the length — roughly an hour later.
Notifications
Turn them on in Five under Settings. You’ll get one quiet reminder at each prayer time, and optionally a gentle nudge ten minutes before. No sounds you didn’t ask for, and never a repeated nag.
Privacy
Five collects nothing. Prayer times are calculated on your phone, and your prayers and location never leave the device. No account, no analytics, no ads. Read the full privacy policy.
